Well here is what went to the fair for 2017

I will post the recipes shortly, but I sent my usual cake, cookies, and brownies to the fair again this year, and my kitchen still looks like it blew up all over the place.(but that comes with recipe development each year).
This year's combinations were pretty tame. When I post the recipes you will see what I mean.

Guaranteed this Cake will Light You Up Royally.

Jack Daniels Fans this cake is for you!

I decided I would try some Honey Jack Daniels in a Spice Cake Mix. Well Boy Howdy, it came out great with a great flavor! If you have someone who is not a fan of Jack, stick it in a cake.

For the people who know me, you know I am not a hard liquor drinker, but I do enjoy cooking with it. I have to say this was the cleanest cake to come out of my silicone bundt pan, which was great. I did have a piece to test the flavor. I really was amazed, at how it tasted(I am still sweating from it).

This cake will definitely light you up in a big way. Who need's a hot toddy?

Here are some pictures from my romp with Jack in my kitchen.(I am keeping the recipe under wraps in case it is a fair contender, and I decide to enter it.):

Keep your eyes peeled, if I decide to enter it, and it wins in this Fall's Great State Fair of Oklahoma in September, then I will reveal the actual recipe it took to make it.

Here is the Mug Mix for February.....Peppermint Chocolate Latte Mug Mix

As I promised you Shelby...

Here is the other mug mix made, that you got for Christmas 2014.

It went a bit longer than I thought since my measurements were not exact measurements. The mix came out a little thin.

The flavor for this cake came out really delicious. Amazingly, the peppermint flavor was tempered very well by the coffee flavor and the cool whip topping on top.

This is a great Valentines Present for Mom or Dad, etc....

Here are the pics I took along the way of making this mug mix:

The end time since the batter for me was thin, took around 3 minutes plus about 30 seconds. The time will also depend on the wattage of the microwave. Some microwaves take less time.

(I would really love to see a Caramel or Red/Berry Velvet Mug Mix come out from this company. I think that would be pretty cool. Exotic flavors would also be great to see, JAZ Gourmet Food, if you are listening and reading I hope  to see more great mug mix flavors coming soon.)

I hope you enjoy this Shelby, can't wait to see how yours come out. Send me some pics when you do them, and let me see. Stay tuned to see what is next to come out of my Creatively Twisted Kitchen.

Modified Gigantic German Pancake....

I originally posted this on my Tahlequah Tasty Tidbits Blog here on blogger, but I wanted to make it again for the hubby, so I am gonna post it here on the Creatively Twisted Blog so you may enjoy it.

The book pictured, "Quick and Easy Family Baking, Cakes, Cookies, Pies & Breads, that anyone can make" As I mentioned before the book does hold up to its title.

As the title of this post says I have modified the Gigantic German Pancake recipe to fit what I have in my kitchen.

You can find the Gigantic German Pancake on page 8 of the book pictured above.

Gigantic German Pancake:

1/2 c. Flour (I used a generic All Purpose)

3 eggs. slightly beaten

1/2 c. milk (Normally I would use a lactose free 2% by Hiland, but for this I had to sub a 1/2c. water for the milk today.)

2T butter, melted (I used lactose free blue bonnet, and added it to my mix, instead of putting it on the side as the recipe ask.)

Powdered Sugar ( I would normally use it, but I used left over apple pie filling, so that accounted for my sweet factor today.)

Maple Syrup (I used a pancake syrup for this that I had in my pantry.)

*I used left over pie filling to add a kick to the pancake, and it happened to be apple, but any fruit or spice to your taste. I have used frozen fruit before also, and it comes out yummy. This is the first time for the left over canned pie filling though. I used a little warm water to hose off some of the goop from the pie filling, which made it easier to cut up.

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Beat flour and eggs in a bowl.

Stir remaining ingredients and 1/4 tsp salt(I added the salt at the very end before the oven and just stirred it in.)

Pour into sprayed 9 inch pie pan(I used an oval corning dish sprayed with butter spray).

Bake for 20 minutes

Pancake will puff into big bubbles while baking.

Cut into wedges and dust with powdered sugar and serve with melted butter and syrup. Serves 3-4.

In the end, even with the water substitution the final product came out great, and the hubby even said it was mushy enough for him without his teeth in, and he did not have to blitz it up, which is Great!

So with or without milk, it will be up to you. Just know you need at least water to get this made, when you are out of milk.

Enjoy. You could make a few different ones and freeze them, and when you have guests, get it out and heat it up a little and serve.
